Nursing Shortage Hurts Patients and Hospitals

We've all known that there is a shortage of nurses nationally. But, this shortage doesn't just impact the nurses who've seen hours extended and a higher ration of patients. Patients and hospitals are hurting too. Wait times are increasing in ERs as hospitals are having to make tough decisions to cap the nurse/patient ratio for quality of care while watching patients wait to receive the care they need.
